Modeling Intra‐Caldera Resurgence Settings: Laboratory Experiments With Application to the Los Humeros Volcanic Complex (Mexico)

چکیده
Scaled analogue models explored the role of different boundary conditions in intra-caldera resurgence processes. Models investigated magma intrusion depth (ID) (Series 1), asymmetric and symmetric caldera collapse 2), as well presence existing discontinuities pre-volcanic substratum 3) on style resurgence. Experimental results indicate that IDs resulted styles structural patterns, which evolved from piston-like resurgence, for deeper intrusions, to resurgent domes shallower intrusions. Asymmetric was typically accompanied by a tilted roof block above emptied reservoir, while inherited faults influenced significantly deformation pattern Experiments simulate many principal characteristics calderas. We compare our modeling primarily Los Potreros nested within Humeros Volcanic Complex, where largest Mexico's Quaternary eruption occurred hosts an important geothermal field (eastern Trans-Mexican Belt). A survey conducted identify kinematics outside volcanic edifice. The shows sub-orthogonal fault strikingly similar deformed with shallow ID. interpret this correlation evidence similarity dynamic processes, whereby would scaled ID ∼4.5 km. Acoculco complex, Mexico, caldera, geological information corroborates attribution renewed magmatic pressure IDs.

متن کاملBinary Time Series Modeling with Application to Adhesion Frequency Experiments.
Repeated adhesion frequency assay is the only published method for measuring the kinetic rates of cell adhesion. Cell adhesion plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. Traditional analysis of adhesion frequency experiments assumes that the adhesion test cycles are independent Bernoulli trials. This assumption can often be violated in practice. Motivated by the a...

Laboratory Studies of Volcanic Jets
The study of the fluid dynamics of violent volcanic eruptions by laboratory experiment is described, and the important fluid-dynamic processes that can be examined in laboratory models are discussed in detail. In prelim•inary experiments, pure gases are erupted from small reservoirs. The gases used are Freon 12 and Freon 22, two gases of high molecular weight and high density that are good anal...
